One relationship

A company setup built for people who work online

Starting a company abroad shouldn't mean finding a lawyer, an accountant, a registered address, a bank and five different people to answer five different questions.

We bring the process together.

From incorporation to ongoing accounting, we help you establish your North Macedonian company and keep it running after the paperwork is finished.

And because foreign individuals are permitted to establish and own North Macedonian companies, you don't need to be Macedonian to get started. [1]

Company formation

We coordinate your incorporation, prepare the required documentation and guide you from application to an active company.

Accounting & compliance

Your company is connected with a local accountant who handles bookkeeping, filings and annual obligations.

Registered address & local support

The local infrastructure your company needs, and someone in North Macedonia to help when something requires attention.

Honey Hive included

Every managed client gets access. Create invoices, track expenses, forward receipts, prepare travel documents. Everything your accountant needs, in one place.

You run your business. We take care of the boring part.

Company-level tax

A simple tax system for small businesses

North Macedonia has a standard 10% corporate income tax rate, but qualifying small companies can use a simplified taxation regime. [2]

Annual total income

Up to MKD 3,000,000

≈ €49,000

0%

Eligible companies are exempt from the annual tax on total income under the simplified regime.

Annual total income

MKD 3,000,001 – 6,000,000

≈ €49,000 – €98,000

1%

Eligible companies can opt for 1% of total income instead of ordinary corporate profit taxation.

Annual total income

Above MKD 6,000,000

Standard regime

10%

Ordinary corporate income tax, generally charged on taxable profit.

Your personal tax situation is separate.

Where you live, where you're tax resident and where your company is actually managed can affect what you owe outside North Macedonia. We help you understand the Macedonian side and tell you when you should speak with a tax adviser in your country of residence.

How it works

From application to everyday business

    Tell us about yourself

Where you live, what your business does, expected revenue and how you plan to use the company.

  2. 02

    We review your setup

Before taking your money, we check whether a North Macedonian company actually makes sense for your situation.

  3. 03

    We establish the company

We coordinate the local registration process and the required documentation.

  4. 04

    Start operating

Why North Macedonia

A small European jurisdiction with a surprisingly simple business tax system.

North Macedonia isn't as famous as Estonia or Bulgaria for international founders. That is exactly why many people overlook it.

For the right small business, the combination of simple company taxation, relatively low operating costs and foreign ownership can make it worth considering.

Straightforward corporate taxation

The ordinary corporate income tax rate is 10% of taxable profit. [3] Qualifying smaller companies can fall under the simplified regime.

Up to MKD 3,000,000
exempt
MKD 3,000,001 – 6,000,000
1% of total income
Above MKD 6,000,000
10% of taxable profit

The simplified regime has eligibility rules and exclusions, so we review your expected activity before presenting it as applicable to your company. [2]

Built for foreign ownership

North Macedonian law permits foreign individuals and companies to establish local companies, including limited liability companies. Official investment guidance states that foreign investors have the same rights to establish self-owned private companies. [1]

That makes the jurisdiction relevant not only to Macedonians, but to international entrepreneurs as well.

Foreign individuals and legal entities can own 100% of the company.

How does it compare?

Standard corporate tax 10% 10% of taxable profit [4] Taxed on distribution, 22/78 of the net distribution [5]

Dividends Personal income tax generally 10% [6] Withholding generally 5%, subject to exemptions and treaties [4] Company-level tax on distribution

Best suited to Freelancers, consultants, agencies and other eligible smaller businesses Businesses that need an EU entity Founders reinvesting profits

So why Macedonia?

Not because it is universally better. Because for a certain type of smaller business, it can be exceptionally simple and cost-effective. We help you determine whether you're actually one of those businesses.

Company formation

Start your North Macedonian company without figuring everything out yourself.

Company registration might be the first step. It's everything around it that usually gets complicated.

Documents · Translations · Accountants · Addresses · Banking · Beneficial ownership · Tax registrations · Annual reporting

We coordinate the process so you don't have to learn the Macedonian administrative system before you can start doing business.

What we take care of

Company setup

We coordinate the establishment of your limited liability company and guide you through the documentation required for your particular case.

Registration paperwork

We prepare and organize the information needed for incorporation and work with the appropriate local professionals to submit it.

Registered company address

Where included in your plan, we arrange a local registered address for your business.

Banking guidance

We help you understand the documentation banks are likely to request and guide you through onboarding. Bank approval is always ultimately the bank's decision.

Accounting setup

Instead of registering your company and leaving you to find an accountant afterward, we connect accounting from day one.

Ongoing support

When something needs to be filed, changed or clarified later, you already have someone to contact.

Can I own the company if I don't live in North Macedonia?

Yes. Foreign individuals and legal entities can establish North Macedonian companies. [1]

Your ability to own a company and your personal tax residency are two different questions. You don't become a North Macedonian tax resident just by owning a company here, and owning one doesn't end tax obligations you may have elsewhere. That's why we ask where you actually live before onboarding you.

Do I need to travel to North Macedonia?

It depends on your circumstances and the services you use. We coordinate as much as possible before any travel becomes necessary.

If a bank, authority or specific procedure requires you to appear personally, we'll tell you before you commit. No surprises halfway through.

What happens after formation?

This is where we're different. You don't disappear from our system once the company exists.

Local accounting, modern workflow

A North Macedonian accountant who understands the local system, and software designed around the way online founders actually work. You shouldn't need to understand every tax form. You should know what to upload, what to pay and when something needs your attention.

For digital nomads

A company base for a life that doesn't happen in one place.

Your company doesn't need to move every time you do. For some genuinely location-independent founders, a North Macedonian company can provide a consistent legal and accounting base while they travel.

Your company residency and your personal residency are not the same thing.

Where your company is incorporated does not automatically determine where you personally pay tax.

If you spend most of your life in Germany, France, Austria or another country, that country may still consider you tax resident and may tax your salary, dividends or other income. Depending on the circumstances, countries can also examine where a company is actually managed.

So we don't sell:

"Open a Macedonian company and never pay tax anywhere else."

That's not how international taxation works.

Who is this designed for?

The strongest fit is someone who genuinely operates internationally. What they have in common isn't a profession. It's that their business isn't tied to a physical office in their home country.

  • ●A freelance developer working with clients around the world
  • ●A marketing consultant who travels throughout the year
  • ●A small remote agency
  • ●A designer or creator selling services internationally
  • ●A software founder running a small online business
  • ●A digital nomad who has already established where they are, and are not, personally tax resident

Already living permanently in Germany?

You can still own a Macedonian company. But don't assume that simply putting the company in North Macedonia means Germany disappears from the tax equation. The same principle applies to other countries.

Your residence, permanent home, time spent in the country, place of management and applicable tax treaty can all matter. We handle the Macedonian company. For complicated cross-border personal taxation, we'll tell you when you need advice from a professional in your country of residence.

We would rather turn away a bad setup than sell you one.

The company has to make sense beyond the headline tax rate. During onboarding, we'll ask about your business, where you live, expected revenue and how you intend to operate.

If North Macedonia isn't a sensible jurisdiction for your situation, we'll tell you.

Tax & FAQ

Taxes, residency and the questions you should ask before opening a company.

What is the corporate tax rate in North Macedonia?+

The standard corporate income tax rate is 10% of taxable profit. [3] Qualifying small companies can instead fall under North Macedonia's simplified taxation regime.

Companies meeting the requirements with total annual income up to MKD 3,000,000 are exempt from annual tax on total income under that regime. Companies between MKD 3,000,001 and MKD 6,000,000 may opt for an annual tax equal to 1% of total income instead of ordinary corporate income tax. [2]

Does that mean my total tax is 0% or 1%?+

No. Those figures describe taxation at the company level under the simplified regime. Payments from the company to you personally can have separate tax consequences.

North Macedonia's general personal income tax rate for income including capital income is currently 10%, while your country of tax residence may also have rules that apply to you. [6] International taxation must therefore be considered separately from the company's corporate tax.

Can a foreigner own a North Macedonian company?+

Yes. Official North Macedonian investment guidance states that foreign individuals and companies can establish local business entities, including LLCs. [1]

Do I have to live in North Macedonia?+

Owning a company does not by itself require you to make North Macedonia your permanent home. However, where you live can have major tax consequences.

Your personal tax residency is not determined simply by the country printed on your company's registration certificate.

What if I'm a digital nomad?+

That's one of the situations where the structure can be interesting. If you've genuinely left your former country of tax residence and spend your life internationally, your situation can be very different from someone who lives 365 days a year in Germany while operating a Macedonian company from their apartment.

We recommend understanding your personal residency position before choosing any foreign company structure.

Can my home country tax my Macedonian company?+

Potentially. Different countries have rules around tax residency, permanent establishments, controlled foreign companies and where a company's effective management takes place.

The answer therefore depends on where you live and how you actually operate the business. We handle the North Macedonian side and can coordinate with your adviser abroad where necessary.

Can I invoice customers anywhere in the world?+

A North Macedonian company can conduct international business, but individual transactions can create VAT, sales-tax or other obligations depending on what you sell and where your customer is located. We'll help with the Macedonian accounting side.

Do you provide accounting?+

Yes. You can continue with us after incorporation rather than finding an accountant yourself. Your accounting service can be connected with Honey Hive so invoices, receipts and business documents stay organized throughout the year.

What is Honey Hive?+

Honey Hive is the software we provide to help you manage the everyday financial paperwork around your company. Create invoices, collect receipts, manage expense documentation and prepare the information your accountant needs. It is included for managed clients.

Can you guarantee that a bank will open my account?+

No. Banks conduct their own KYC and AML checks and ultimately decide which clients they accept. What we can do is prepare you properly, guide you through the process and avoid wasting your time with an application that is obviously missing required information.

Is this a tax-avoidance service?+

No. We help people establish and operate legitimate North Macedonian businesses. We don't provide structures designed to conceal income, create false residency or evade taxes in another country.

The point is to use the rules that legally exist while keeping your company properly registered, accounted for and compliant.
